Since I don't believe it is the equipment that makes a photographer, I wanted to reduce photography to its most basic element, which is capturing light and the absence of light.

On that account, I decided to create a series of photographs (2018) using materials of various densities to block the Enlarger light.  I wanted this process to be as unimpaired as possible so I used materials like feathers, fabric, yarn, sewing notions, twigs and loosely arranged them on photographic paper.

There were no dodging and burning or any other type of editing imposed on these photograms.  A minimalist composition, however, was done with purpose because I wanted each object as the central focus in the photograph.
