Payment

  • Cost of the printed image; material and labour for creating the product.

    If framed/matted, the cost of these items and the labour to put it all together.

  • 8x10 Dot Photography uses a 3rd party to process your payment - see Privacy Policy, item #8 for more details.

    Authentication of your payment method is done by the payment processor which operates via a set of industry protocols.

    All major credit and debit cards are accepted as payment.

  • No.

    However, if you’re a member of The Artist’s Studio:

    ⨀ You’ll have access to works in progress and see upcoming items that will be up for purchase.

    ⨀ This will give you the opportunity to reserve a piece of artwork and plan ahead for its purchase.

    ⨀ Reservation is only possible for Wall Art Prints, not “For My Chicks” merchandise.

    ⨀ See question: “How do I reserve an artwork print for purchase?”

  • Neither Wall Art Prints nor “For My Chicks” merchandise will be “marked-down” for sale since the best price possible is always offered to the buyer.

    For buyers who are patron customers or a buyer who will be making a large order of artwork prints or “For My Chicks” products, a volume discount may be offered.

    Each situation is unique as each buyer and will be evaluated as such through private discussions between the potential buyer and 8x10 Dot Photography.

  • This is never pleasant; the most common reasons are:

    1. Typos when entering payment details.

    2. Fraud prevention - maybe something did not match those assigned to the payment method - address, credit card number, CVV number, expiry date.

    3. Restrictions or limitations placed on the payment method - double check with your bank/card issuer.

    4. Network/internet connection errors during the payment process - check that your web browser and internet connections are secure, and retry.

    Here is what we will do on our end:

    1. Automatic retry of your payment method after 5 days of the initial payment attempt,

    2. and if that fails, one final retry of the payment method will be done 5 more days after.

    3. I can investigate the reason(s) in more detail with the payment processor, if you like - you will have to let 8x10 Dot Photography know if you want this .

  • There are a few reasons why this may happen:

    - firstly, you will be refunded for any orders directly cancelled by 8x10 Dot Photography -

    1. Most of the prints and products offered are in limited editions, the item may be sold out.

    2. The manufacture is unable to produce the ordered item due to lack of supplies or labour issues, for which a replacement cannot be found.

    3. Change in import or manufacturing laws affecting shipment to your region/country.

    4. Denial of service by the host of this website.

  • No, unless there are proven damages.

    ◽Take your time reviewing the product you have in mind and your address.

    ◽Also, let’s consider our carbon-footprint and not encourage the preventable transportation of goods;

    ◽For this reason, product images are posted without any “corrections” so that you can see the truest representation of the merchandise/artwork that you will be receiving.

    Remember:

    I’m always happy to answer your question(s) regarding any 8x10 Dot Photography’s products.

    There is no obligation to purchase a piece of artwork or merchandise if you ask questions about it - 8x10 Dot Photography will not send you email prompts or reminders regarding your inquiry.

Product

    1. 8x10 Dot Photography works with the manufactures/vendors of the reprinted artwork/merchandise - selecting the substrates and communicating regarding any potential image quality issues.

    2. Images of artwork and merchandise to be produced are held by and sent directly from the artist to the manufactures/vendors when an order is placed.

    3. Final products are randomly inspected by the artist to ensure continued quality production.

    4. 8x10 Dot Photography artwork and merchandise are only available for purchase through the 8x10.photography website.

    5. 8x10 Dot Photography does not offer a “certificate of authenticity”, as this can be forged.

    If you buy a resold product, 8x10 Dot Photography cannot guarantee its authenticity.

  • Short answer is, yes.

    Long answer is, it depends on the size needed and only for open-edition prints.

    The original, smaller, darkroom-printed image needs to be enlarged for reprinting and this affects the quality of the final print - the bigger the reprint is, the less sharp the final image will be.

    Alternatively, you can use the Working with 8x10 Dot Photography [to be linked once section is ready] form to propose something specific to your needs.

  • No. It will be cost prohibitive to ship the print just to be viewed - not to mention environmentally unsound.

    Also, moving the print around may incur damages and if the customer will not be buying the print, then that would be unfair to the eventual buyer.

    Virtual mockups of artwork prints and products in various decor settings have been posted throughout this website to give potential customers an idea of how a piece might look in your space.

  • There is a submission form specific for this purpose, in the members’ area - The Artist’s Studio [will be visible in this area once live].

    Reservations are held for 30 days after the artwork has been made publicly available on the 8x10 Dot Photography store.

    But, because you have reserved the artwork, you will have access to it as soon as it is completed (before it’s published) - and if you still want the print - be able to purchase it in the members’ area.

Shipment

  • ◽No. As a small supplier, 8x10 Dot Photography cannot afford to offer free shipment;

    however, as a small supplier, taxes (VAT/GST) for most countries will not apply to your order.

    ◽Shipment rates vary by regions/countries, so you will see different shipping costs for the same product.

    ◽Shipment rates for prints and products are calculated by the manufactures of these items.

    8x10 Dot Photography DOES NOT markup shipment costs that it is charged; cost is rounded up to the nearest dollar for ease of accounting.

    ◽Shipping costs may also change for existing products as logistic providers adjust their rates.

    The receiver of the order will be responsible for any customs/duty charges, in accordance with that country’s policies.

    Shipment cost include:

    ⨀ packaging materials of the order to ensure it’s secure,

    ⨀ or, custom-built crates for larger artwork/print orders,

    ⨀ carrier costs for transporting the package,

    ⨀ and any applicable tax(es), according to the customer’s country laws.

  • See the Countries Currently Shipping To list:

    ◽More countries will be added once I’ve navigated international/remote seller’s tax requirements for each country.

    ◽Some countries may be removed as laws change.

    If you are unable to place an order for shipment:

    1. It could be that your region/country has not yet been setup for shipment, pending tax registration or restrictive shipment charges.

    2. Or, and, taxation rules for nonresident ecommerce businesses are not clear, unnecessarily burdensome, or are in-progress.

    3. Or, and, due to:

      1. Canada’s trade sanctions against your country

      2. or, and, your country’s import prohibitions or restrictions

  • 8x10 Dot Photography is not able to capture special delivery instructions during your ordering process.

    It may be possible to contact the carrier (especially if you already have an account with them), once you have been provided with the shipment tracking number, to advise of any special delivery requirements.

    However, there is no guarantee the shipper/transportation provider will transfer/read/act on this information.

  • Within North America, it may take approximately 2 to 3 weeks to receive your order.

    For countries outside of North America, it can take any where between 3 to 5 weeks.

    Most of the manufactures are located within mid-eastern United States and Canada, if your delivery location is close to this area then the delivery time should be less.

    Keep in mind, this timeline may vary due to:

    1. Remote locations that are not often serviced by transporters;

    2. Inclement weather or strike, slowing down transporters;

    3. Some countries’ port of entry (customs) regulations;

    4. Other blockage in the transportation pipeline;

    5. Sometimes there are high volume of orders that the manufactures need to create, adding a few extra days in the wait time - if this is the case, you will be notified.

    You will be provided with a tracking number for the carrier, once the order has been received by the transportation provider.

  • You may be able to, depending on when:

    1. After you have placed your order online, 8x10 Dot Photography is notified of a pending order at which time, 8x10 Dot Photography will review your payment/product requirements and authorize the manufacture to produce and ship the order;

    2. This process can takes about 24-48 hours, if you notify 8x10 Dot Photography within this time period, your change or cancellation request may be accommodated - you will be notified if your request is possible or not.

  • As soon as you’ve received the package(s) and before opening:

    1. Take pictures, as documentation;

    2. Save the packaging for inspection, by the carrier, if necessary.

    Once you have opened the package(s):

    1. Take some pictures of the print(s)/merchandise - the quantity and condition of arrival;

    2. Take pictures from various angles of the actual artwork print/ merchandise;

    3. If damaged, compare the area damaged on the print/merchandise to any damage(s) on the package, and take pictures of these areas - we need to know who was responsible for the damage(s), the carrier or production, in order to file a claim for reimbursement or replacement product;

    4. Send the images you have taken and describe the issues to 8x10 Dot Photography (reply to your order communication email) within 48 hours of receiving your order.

    8x10 Dot Photography will then report the issue(s) to the manufacture/vendor of the product for a resolution.

    8x10 Dot Photography will update you of the progress via email communication.

  • Please send an (or reply to your order notification) email to 8x10 Dot Photography regarding any concerns about your order.

    8x10 Dot Photography will work together with its manufactures/vendors to find an answer or resolution for you, regarding shipment or order production.
