Got questions? We’ve got answers - about orders, payments, shipping, and what to expect when collecting your artwork. It’s all here in plain language, so you can feel confident and informed every step of the way.

-
Do you offer donated artwork? My donations are based on personal commitment to causes that align with my values - such as artist-run galleries, and animal welfare organizations. I'll make the decision to donate on a case-by-case basis, rather than external requests.
-
How do you ensure the authenticity and quality of your product?8x10 Dot Photography treat quality control like an art form in itself by: working with the manufacturers/vendors of the reprinted artwork/merchandise in selecting the substrates, and communicating any potential image quality issues. Images to be reprinted are held by and sent directly from the artist to the manufacturers/vendors when an order is placed. Final products are randomly inspected by the artist to ensure quality production. 8x10 Dot Photography artwork and merchandise are only available for purchase through the www.8x10.photography website. 8x10 Dot Photography does not offer a "certificate of authenticity", as this can be forged; if you buy a resold (supposedly) 8x10 Dot Photography product, 8x10 Dot Photography cannot guarantee its authenticity.

What is the difference between Open Edition and Limited Edition prints?Limited Edition prints are: released in a fixed number, signed and numbered by the artist. Each one carries a distinct place in the series, adding value and exclusivity. Open Edition prints, on the other hand, are not restricted by quantity: they may still be created with exceptional care and quality, but they’re not part of a finite collection, and don’t include numbering or signatures. Both serve different kinds of collectors: those who seek rarity, and those who simply want to live with the image they love. At 8x10 Dot Photography, the distinction is made clear so you can choose with confidence, and maybe even start a collection worth bragging about.
-
Physical Artwork: Can I get a print in a different size?Short answer is yes. Long answer is it depends on the size needed: the original, smaller, darkroom-printed image needs to be enlarged for reprinting and this affects the quality of the final print, the bigger the reprint is, the less sharp the final image will be and only for open-edition prints. If you have something specific in mind, you’re welcome to submit a request through the Working with 8x10 Dot Photography proposal form - this button will take you there:
-
Physical Artwork: Can I borrow the print/artwork to see how it will look in my space?I get it - imagining how a piece of art will complement your space is part of the fun, but 8x10 Dot Photography does NOT offer loaner prints for preview it would be cost prohibitive to ship the print just to be viewed; environmentally unsound; moving the print around may incur damages and if the customer will not be buying the print, then that would be unfair to the eventual buyer. That being said, virtual mockups of prints and products in a range of settings have been posted across this site to help you visualize the vibe; think of them as your digital "try-before-you-buy", minus the environmental impact and the heartbreak of a ruined masterpiece.
-
How do I reserve an artwork print for purchase? To request a reservation, just head to the submission form in the members-only section, The Artist’s Studio. Once your selected piece is completed, you’ll be notified and gain access to it within that space. Reservations are held for 30 days following completion, giving you time to decide if it belongs on your wall, or in your life. Christina will reach out via email to confirm your interest, timing, and next steps. Because art deserves thoughtful consideration, not impulse buys.
-

-
Digital Download: Can I sell products using the artwork I downloaded?Yes, if you've purchased under the Standard License, you can sell up to 100 physical items per design - example, prints, cards, notebooks, etc. Need more? Consider upgrading to the Extended License, see chart below for an overview of both licenses:

-
Digital Download: What counts as "mass production"?If you plan to use a design on over 100 products - this will be considered "mass-produced" - to: sell via Print-On-Demand platforms, distribute through multiple sales channels, you will need to purchase the digital download as an Extended License option.
-
Digital Download: What is not allowed, at all?The following are off-limits, in all scenarios - NOT PERMITTED: Reselling or redistributing the digital file itself; Using artwork in digital templates or kits for resale; Uploading to AI tools, NFT platforms, or blockchain-based products; Gifting or sharing the file with anyone else - sorry, no buddy system.

-
Digital Download: What if I'm using the art for a client project? That's allowed! As long as you're delivering a final product (ex. printed material, website design) and not the original artwork (digital) file. DO NOT transfer the file to, or allow your client to use the file, unless your client has purchased their own license.
-
What is included in the price? Each price reflects more than the artwork itself - it’s a thoughtful sum of materials, craftsmanship, and the behind-the-scenes essentials that keep 8x10 Dot Photography running smoothly. You’re covering: The cost of the printed image and materials - paper, matting, framing, if applicable; The labour to assemble the piece; A portion of overhead expenses - secure email, hosting, cloud storage, payment processing, workspace; A modest fee for the admin time it takes to make sure your tax gets reported correctly. No hidden fees, no mystery math - just a fair breakdown of what it takes to bring quality photography from darkroom to doorstep.
-

Can I purchase with installment payments?8x10 Dot Photography doesn't offer payment plans, but if you’re eyeing a piece: you don’t have to rush into a decision, as a member of The Artist’s Studio, you’ll have early access to works in progress and the option to reserve artwork before it becomes available in the store. This gives you the breathing room to plan your purchase, envision the piece in your space, and decide if it’s the next addition to your personal collection. Note: reservations apply to wall art and artwork prints only, not For My Chicks merchandise. Because art should be acquired with intention - not just impulse.
-
Do you offer volume discounts or sales?8x10 Dot Photography does not markup merchandises, then offer "sales" by marking down prices. pricing is designed to reflect real production costs, fair labour, and the value of original work; that means every piece is offered at the best price possible from the start, no inflated pricing, no retail gimmicks. I do understand that patrons and collectors occasionally inquire about bundle pricing for larger orders: these requests are considered on a case-by-case basis, and always handled with discretion and respect, because every order is as individual as the person placing it. If you're planning a large-scale purchase, feel free to reach out directly to discuss options.
-
Who receives the donations from the sale of For My Chicks products?Proceeds from For My Chicks products go toward supporting bird habitat conservation and restoration - but not just anywhere. To keep things fair and local, donations are directed to non-profit organizations based on where the products were sold. For example, if most of the sales came from Canada, a Canadian conservation group would receive the corresponding portion of net profits. If some were sold in Australia, an Aussie organization gets their share too. It’s 8x10 Dot Photography's way of “sharing the wealth” with like-minded folks, wherever your love for birds - and art - takes flight. -
Why did my order payment fail? This is never pleasant; the most common reasons are: typos when entering payment details; fraud prevention; maybe something did not match those assigned to the payment method, like missing number(s) from address, credit card, CVV, expiry date. Restrictions or limitations placed on the payment method, double check with your bank/card issuer. Network/internet connection issues during the payment transaction process, check that your web browser and internet connections are secure, and retry.
-
Why did you cancel my order? There are a few reasons why this may happen: Most of the prints and products offered are in limited editions, the item(s) may be sold out. The manufacturer may be unable to produce the ordered item(s) due to lack of supplies or labour issues, for which a replacement manufacturer cannot be found. Changes in import and manufacturing laws affecting shipment to your region/country. Denial of service by the host of this website or other 3rd party SaaS providers. You will be refunded for any order(s) directly cancelled by 8x10 Dot Photography and will always be notified of the reason for cancellation.
-
Do you offer refunds? No, unless there are proven damages; take your time reviewing the product you have in mind and your ship-to details. let's consider our carbon-footprint and not encourage the preventable transportation of goods; for this reason, product images are posted without any 'corrections' so that you can see the truest representation of the merchandise/artwork that you'll be receiving. I'm always happy to answer your questions regarding a product, before you decide to purchase; there is no obligation to purchase a piece of artwork or merchandise if you ask questions about it, and 8x10 Dot Photography will not send you email prompts or reminders regarding your inquiry.
-
How much is shipping, is it free?As a small supplier, 8x10 Dot Photography cannot afford to provide free shipment, but charges shipping based on your region or country. Shipment cost will vary for the same product, depending on where it's going. Rest assured I don’t markup shipping rates, what's charged is what you pay - rounded to the nearest dollar for simplicity and transparency. The carrier of choice is Purolator and while their rates may be slightly higher than those of aggregated (ecommerce) shippers, they offer a number of important benefits: fewer courier handoffs = less risk of damage or delays; faster delivery - typically within a week instead of 2–8 weeks; use their app to track your package, or make any delivery adjustments; arrange an evening delivery time for your convenience. You may also be responsible for customs duties or taxes as required by your country’s laws. Shipping costs include protective packing materials, custom-built crates for larger artwork, carrier fees, insurance, and any applicable taxes.
-
Where do you ship/sell to?Eventually, 8x10 Dot Photography hopes to reach every country on the globe, but until tax compliance become easier, please see the Regions Shipping To page; more countries/cities may be added or removed as each country's law change. If you're unable to place an order for shipment: it may be that your region/country has not yet been setup for shipment, pending tax registration; not shipping to that country because taxation rules for nonresident ecommerce businesses are not clear, unnecessarily burdensome, or are in-progress; it may be due to Canada's (home of 8x10 Dot Photography) trade sanctions against your country; it may be due to your country's import prohibitions or restrictions; it may be because of restrictive shipment charges.
-
Do you offer gift-wrapping or notes for gifts?Yes, if you're purchasing artwork or home decor as a present, I'd love to help make it feel special. To request a personal touch: either let me know before you place your order - so I can get the necessary supplies ready, or reply to your order confirmation email within 24 hours. Let me know the message you'd like to include, or ask about gift packaging options. I'll coordinate with the vendors and let you know what's possible.
-
How long will it take to receive my order?Your package has been entrusted to the shipping gods; they’re mighty, but alas not even they can outwit unpredictable weather or border bureaucracy: it may take approximately 2 to 3 days within North American; about one week, outside of North America. You will receive your tracking number once the order has been processed by the transportation provider. You can even sign up for an account with most major carriers to track/change your delivery address/time/date. Keep in mind, timelines may vary due to: Remote locations that are not often serviced by transporters Inclement weather or strike, slowing down transporters Some countries' port of entry (customs) regulations Other blockage in the transportation pipeline Sometimes there are high volume of orders that the manufacturer needs to produce, adding a few extra days in the wait time, if this is the case, you will be notified.
-
Where do I include my location's delivery restrictions?8x10 Dot Photography is currently not able to accept special delivery instructions during checkout. Once your order is on its way, you might be able to contact the shipping carrier directly (especially if you have an account with them), using the tracking number that I will provide. That said, I can’t guarantee that the carrier will be able to accommodate or follow through on delivery requests, it really depends on their individual policies and processes - these can vary by country.
-
Can I change/cancel the order or the ship-to-address?You may be able to, depending on how soon you get in touch. Once your order has been placed, 8x10 Dot Photography reviews the details and gives the green light to the vendor to produce / ship it; that usually happens within 24 to 48 hours of placing your order. If you reach out within that 24 - 48 hour window: I’ll do my best to catch it in time and let you know if the change or cancellation is possible. Just keep in mind, once production starts, the order is locked in and cannot be modified. Either way, I will notify you if your request is possible or not.
-
My order arrived damaged/incorrect quantity, what now?Every step is taken to ensure safe delivery, but once in while things happen in transit. To help us resolve this quickly: As soon as you've received the package(s) and before opening: take clear pictures from every angle, as documentation; save the packaging for inspection by the carrier, if necessary. Once you have opened the package(s): take some pictures of the print(s)/merchandise, the quantity and condition of arrival; take pictures from various angles of the actual artwork print(s)/merchandise; if damaged, compare the area(s) damaged on the print(s)/merchandise to any damage(s) on the package, and take pictures of all areas, we need to know who was responsible for the damage(s), the carrier or production, in order to file a claim for reimbursement or replacement product. Email the pictures you have taken, with a description of the issue(s), to 8x10 Dot Photography: you can reply to your order communication email, within 48 hours of receiving your order. 8x10 Dot Photography will then report the issue(s) for a resolution, and keep you updated via email communication.
-
