We collect only what’s needed to process your order, respond to your inquiries, and improve your experience. No spam, no selling your info, and no sneaky tracking - just respectful, transparent data handling.
The artwork is sold as-is, and you’re welcome to resell it anytime - just no reproductions, edits, or commercial use; unless it's a Digital Download. Your wall, your vibe, but the artist keeps the copyright.
Collaboration, but no long-term partnership. We protect creative work, communication, and mutual trust. You’ll know what to expect, how licensing works, and how we resolve hiccups - all simply and well-documented.
An invitation that is time-limited, and for your eyes only. No sharing, saving, recording, or reposting the content.
Your membership means you agree to experience it respectfully and keep it private.

Customer Ownership Terms
These terms are to protect the intellectual property rights of the artist and therefore the value appreciation of your investment
Physical prints

Rights to ownership of artwork

8x10 Dot Photography retains exclusive intellectual property rights to the artwork.

The buyer owns a physical print (in a series of prints) of an original work of art.
-
The buyer is solely responsible for any potential physical/mental/emotional affliction(s) as a result of purchasing and owning the artwork
-
for example, if you cut or bruise yourself while cleaning, moving, etc. the artwork, 8x10 Dot Photography cannot be held responsible​.
-

No Alterations
-
The buyer must not alter, in any method(s), the print for the purpose of selling or distributing copies.
-
The buyer may frame/mat/mount the print in any fashion necessary for displaying the piece.
-
The buyer may store/use the print in any way (use as a coaster, if you want) that is convenient/needed,
-
preferably in a conservation manner.

for private use only

Purchase of the print is for private use only.

Commercial use of the artwork by the buyer is not permitted:
-
no renting the artwork​
-
no charging money to view/copy the artwork
-
do not use for advertising in any past/current/future formats.

Get in touch or propose a project (via the Working with 8x10 Dot Photography Proposal Form) if you would like to use the artwork for commercial purpose​s.​

Sold As Is
-
As the print was not commissioned from 8x10 Dot Photography by the buyer, returns are not accepted, nor are requests for exchange, or another print/product.

In case of a damaged print/product, see the FAQ: "My order arrived damaged/incorrect quantity, now what?", under the Shipment category.

no reproductions
-
The buyer is not purchasing a license to reproduce or distribute the artwork print:
-
effective for the lifetime of the artwork, it is not permitted to reproduce the print, or make copies of the print using any past/present/future method(s)​.

To inquire about licensing an 8x10 Dot Photography artwork, use the Working with 8x10 Dot Photography Proposal Form.

Taking a photograph/screenshot of the print for the purpose of reselling or commercial publication is not permitted​.

Resold Artwork
-
The buyer may resell/donate the physical print at any price without any time limitations.
-
These terms of ownership transfer to the new owner of the print, in all instances, if/when the piece has been resold/donated.

Compatibility with other third-party platform is not guaranteed.

Refund Policy & Support

Due to the digital nature of artwork downloads, all sales are final and non-refundable

Contact 8x10 Dot Photography for support if you experience issues accessing or downloading your file(s)

Christina will get back to you as soon as possible - within 24 hours.​

Policy Revision
-
This license may be updated periodically.
-
Continued use of purchased artwork after policy updates indicates acceptance.

Buyers will be notified via website announcement or email.

Standard License
-
You are not required to credit 8x10 Dot Photography when commercially using purchased artwork.
-
Permitted Commercial Uses:
-
you may incorporate the artwork into physical products (ex. prints, cards, notebooks) for resale up to 100 units per design​
-
​you may use the artwork on marketing materials (ex. flyers, banners, digital ads) for your own business
-
you may use the artwork for client work (ex. packaging design, blog visuals) provided that you do not transfer the file itself.
-
-
NOT Permitted:
-
resale, redistribution, or modifications of the digital file itself​
-
use in logos, trademarks, or brand elements
-
usage in digital templates, NFTs, AI training, or generative products
-
Print-On-Demand platforms, unless separately licensed
-
mass production -
-
if you intend to use the design in more than 100 products or any manufacturing context, you'll need a separate Extended License.​

Terms:​

license is non-transferable and valid for only the original purchaser​

license applies to the specific artwork/design purchased and is not a blanket coverage across your portfolio
-
license upgrades may be revoked or revised in the event of misuse or policy changes.

Extended License
-
This Extended License grants enhanced commercial usage rights for artwork files purchased from 8x10 Dot Photography, beyond the scope of the Standard Digital Download License.
-
Buyers with an Extended License are permitted to:
-
use artwork in the creation of more than 100 physical products per design (ex. wall art, stationery, apparel)​
-
sell artwork-enhanced products via multiple storefronts, including Print-On-Demand platforms
-
​integrate artwork into branded packaging, advertising, and promotional materials
-
use artwork across multiple product types or marketing campaigns, without needing to re-license per design.
-
-
Even with extended rights, some things are still off-limits:​
-
no resale, gifting, or redistribution of the digital file, itself​
-
no usage in creating derivative digital assets for resale (ex. templates, digital kits, clipart packs)
-
not authorized for logos, brand identity, or trademarks
-
STRICTLY PROHIBITED for use in NFTs, blockchain applications, AI training, or any generative platforms.

Jurisdiction and governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.

Any disputes shall be settled in the courts of Toronto, Ontario.
